I have been progressing well through Todd’s portrait so far. After coming off of the frustration with Paul’s portrait, it has been a nice change of pace with how this one is coming together.

Special shoutout so far to Todd being a lad that dons bowties. His striped bowtie was difficult, but fun to paint. I have a tendency to really be the one that gets lost in all of the details that I don’t know how to do big brush strokes and big shapes of color sometimes. I have been having to adopt the bigger shapes of values in these paintings, especially with Todd’s shirt. So it was nice to go back to my usual factory brand settings and get lost in the detailing of his bowtie. Small little detail, but it makes the portrait even more fun to look again. Next up will be his face.

…work in progress…
